He smiled down at his children, sleeping soundly. His littlest, Aiden, sleeping curled up tightly on his side, one fist balled into his pillow, the other clutching his older brother's pajama top. Benji, bold little Benji, slept sprawled over three quarters of the futon. Cid smiled and tugged Benji's little cow shirt down over his bare tummy. Vincent came up behind him and wrapped his arms around his waist. Cid gently leaned back into his warmth. "They're so tired. They spent all day out with me, exploring the wonders of the world," he said softly, afraid his voice would disturb his sons. "There will be many more days for them to go exploring. For now, let's let them rest," Vincent said, and led Cid out of the boys room to their own. |
