It was just one of those moments in battle that didn’t really bear repeating. One of those moments that the old timers neglected to bring up to the grandkids as they spun tales of their glory days beside the fire. It certainly wasn’t anything Cid was gonna mention as he stared down at his massive paws and realized he had somehow been turned into a bloodhound. “Just what the hell happened here?” he demanded. A chocobo that used to be Cloud looked around. “That’s… a very good question. Weren’t we just fighting Sephiroth…?” A dour-looking bullfrog that used to be Rude said nothing. A slinky red cat blinked beautiful green eyes, then looked at an affronted Pomeranian. “Hey, Elena… didn’t Rufus tell you not to play with his Spirit Materia?” “Spirit materia?” inquired a raven with red eyes. “Yeah,” said Reno-Kitty. “You invoke it and it reveals your animal form.” Reno looked at the annoyed brown bullfrog. “Wow. Appropriate.” Rude-Frog declined comment. “I am not a yappy little dog!” said Elena-Puppy indignantly. “Yeah you are,” said Cid-Hound. He looked over at Vincent-Raven. “How are you, babe?” Vincent fluffed his feathers and looked disgruntled. “Nevermore,” he mumbled. “Well hang on a moment,” said Cloudobo. “We were fighting Sephiroth when Elena set off that materia. He has to still be here. Where did he go?” The collection of animals looked around, finally spying a large and exceedingly furry silver-grey Persian kitty, seated upon a leather coat. Around it were scattered gloves, boots, leather pants, and of course that tell-tale seven foot blade. “General Fluffy is not amused,” said the cat. |
