Reno was positively perky as Cloud stumbled out of the bedroom and over to the kitchen table, sinking into a chair. He and the beautiful lanky redhead had only just moved out the last of their other "roommates", and it was finally only himself, Reno, and Kin. And, of course, Sid and Johnny. Cloud would never hurt a cat, but Reno clearly was the cat-fancier in the house. He adored cats. He worshipped their arrogant, aloof, shedding, hair-ball hacking, mouse-rending, furniture clawing nasty little selves. Cloud however could actually find fault with the little darlings. He suspected this was the reason Sid always chose to piss on his shoes. "Good morning, handsome," Reno purred. Cloud smiled and was about to say 'good morning' back... until he realized that Reno was talking to Johnny. "What about me?" Reno smiled, rubbing noses with the great fluffy black and white cat. "Daddy is jealous of the kitty. Yes he is." Cloud stared sourly at the hairy beast, while Kin drew in her porridge with her fingers. "Do you know what that hairy little monster did to me this morning?" "Gave you half a mouse?" "No. I woke up, and am lying in my nice comfy bed, eyes closed, when I feel a cat come stomping onto the pillow and lie down. I feel something warm and vaguely damp touch my nose, and I actually had a moment of weakness where I thought about how cute it was that I was nose to nose with a kitty." "Awwwww...." said Reno. "Kitty kisses." "Yeah it was really sweet. Until I reached up to pet the kitty.... and realized that it was not the the nose I was feeling." "Oh. Well that sucks." "YES! It did!" "No I mean now we have to take you to the doctor. Johnny has tapeworm." Cloud sighed quietly. "And people wonder why I'm emo," he mumbled. |
