John Arrowsmith and his friends are racing against time. With help from his family and others, they need to find decoys before all-out war erupts. Unfortunately, just as they’re all scattered to different ends of the realm, the war arrives on their doorstep. With their best fighters -- and their army -- in various places, the White Palace is besieged. In the aftermath, they discover secrets that lead each of them along paths they never thought possible.
But one of those paths may not offer a way back for one of them. It’s going to take everything Arrowsmith and his friends can muster to bring back one of their own before it’s too late.
The court of the White Palace is back in the finale of this wonderfully written, utterly engrossing fantasy series. And I, for one, am sad to see it end.
This last book in the trilogy is one that left me on the edge of my seat, and in some cases, in tears. As with the first two, Alyx’s sense of humor shines through, but it’s the heartwrenching moments that truly show just how much these characters can work themselves into the reader’s psyche. My heart broke a few times for them, but in the end, it was worth it.
This series is destined for the classics. If I had it in print, it’d be well-worn and well-loved, having gone through multiple re-readings. I could never tire of the stories or the characters, and they will live in my heart forever.
I'd kill for this in print. The whole trilogy.
One of the greatest fantasy series I've ever read in my life.
Thank you so much. You cannot know what your words mean to me. But dearer still was the note in your letter to me -
